Mischieviousness Defined

So far as I hear it, this must be second child syndrome. As in you can’t turn your back for one minute. As in as soon as things get quite, you best get worried. All day, people, all day. I’m constantly on guard with this little rapscallion! This is just a snippet-only 2 pictures out of the 20 messes/near disasters in one day.

Mom is on the phone with Nonnie and Papa, and he finds the bag of m&m’s. And eats lots of them. 20 minutes before bedtime. Can you say sugar high?

And this is his favorite new trick, especially with “no hands”. Yeah. He turned the stool upside down to stand on the tiny legs.

Thing is? He is SO DARN CUTE. Ryan can definitely talk his way out of things (he is incredibly good at trying). Jack charms his way out of things. Or attempts too, anyway. Oh these boys!

This is J’s new word…he has had momma and daddy and papa and nana (banana) down for months, but is mainly into sound effects. But this one? It stuck. And it’s unbearably cute to his mother.

Growing Up

3 years old. THREE YEARS OLD. And he says “My name is not Ry-Ry anymore; that’s a baby name. My name is Ryan.” *Boo-hoo!!!*

Although this did delight me:

Upon jabbering away for 20 minutes straight to seemingly no one, he comes down the stairs and says “I was talking to God. About everything. He listens to me.” (The faith of a child! How cool is that?!)

Has anyone looked at the 10 day forecast for Maine? Rain, Rain, GO BLASTED AWAY!!!!

Off to the house! Thanks for all of your encouragement…I can’t wait to sit down and actually have the time to respond to everyone!

Dunkin Donuts

Oh dear.

This afternoon, Jack and I were sitting in the driver’s side seat in the car with the window rolled down, and Ry was playing in the yard. He ran up to the car window and said “Here is your pretend chocolate donut and your medium coffee, extra extra! And your change, please!” (Extra Extra is D&D lingo)

I just lost it. Laughed so hard. This child takes absolutely everything in. And I suppose it means we go to D&D quite regularly, doesn’t it? He came back to the window time and again, changing the order up; bagel, muffin, two donuts for Jack!, etc…but there was always a medium coffee, extra extra.

Also (just humor me-have to write these down for my sake, or I’ll forget them):

New exclamation is “Gracious Sakes Alive!”

Upon getting his tricycle stuck in a crack in the brick sidewalk…”Momma, I need a tow truck to come get me out”.

Never a dull moment!

45 Dandelions

Well, I have a long weekend to blog about, so while I’m workin’ on it, enjoy the video! (It’s only 30 seconds long).

Happy Heart

I just put Ryan down for a nap, and out of the blue he whispers “Mommy, you are my best friend in the whole world!”

This job is so worth it! That was pretty significant seeing as though he is a daddy’s boy through and through.

And on a sillier note, the other day Nonnie said “Ryan, you are delightful!” and he replies “No, I’m goodness gracious great balls of fire.”

:-D

The Do’s and Don’ts

This is how you blow on a dandelion.

You do not eat the dandelion.

One of those days

One of those fabulous days, that is.

Yesterday was super. The weather was better than we expected, so around 10:00 am we walked down the street to Reny’s and bought a bottle of Bubbles (aka bubble juice) for the boys. What joy 69 cents will bring! I finally broke out my camera to take some pictures-I’m so bad about not taking advantage of my camera. I took a plethora; here are a few:

Picnic!

Giving the tulips a “shower”, according to Ry. Check out how Jack is holding his watering can. :)

When the boys went down for their nap, I started making some pillow covers for my Etsy shop. I’ve wanted to do this forever, and I’m having SO MUCH FUN! I plan on completing a few today, then I’ll post pictures. Yay!

When Erick arrived home from school, we took the boys to Pizza Hut, then meandered along a back road to the soon-to-be Murray Residence. Let the kids wander around the yard, and E and I dreamed a bit. And guess what? I have a big, fat lilac bush in my front yard! Woohoo!

We then decided to drive around town a bit, and ended up at the Lakeside Restaurant, which was BURSTING with people. It was such a festive atmosphere! Most of the people were dining inside, but we decided to get some softserve and go to the playground. It’s behind the restaurant, and right on the lake…so peaceful. Jack chased the seagulls and Ryan went down the slide over and over again. I think we have a new family tradition! I wish I would have taken the camera…

The great thing? I have been particularly, in no uncertain terms, VERY much against moving to this town. I’ve never really cared for it, even though it was where Erick and I met and were married. I told God “No Way” would we ever move here. Haha! Now, you know, it’s really starting to grow on me. Funny how that happens.

Time to get to work! I can’t wait to share my new creations with you!

Budding Artist

You can’t stop this kid. He finds pencils where none should be found. Only draw on paper? Forget it! I am just *praying* that he doesn’t snag a pen when I’m not looking.

This and That

Yesterday when Ryan woke up, my mom told him that Daddy and Papa would be at home because of the weather, and that we would make waffles for fun. Ryan replies (with nary a breath inbetween):

“Maybe Papa will make me a really really really really big waffle and so I’ll need a really really really really big blog of syrup but then it will run out so we’ll have to go to the store. But not the little store, the big store. I want to go to Walmart and go through the big doors on my own. Nonnie? Can I drive myself?”

He is such a chatterbox lately!

…………………

I also wanted to share with you my momentous little moment. Yesterday I listed a few items to my new store, and literally, within minutes, I made a sale. Not just fabric, which is so awesome to sale, but a little painting. I think I grinned the rest of the day. Nothing like knowing that someone out there likes what you do! So goodbye, funky mod frond. I’ll miss you, and I bid you well as you travel across the states. You’ve been good to me!

A Thousand Chocolate Chips

Just have to jot these down before I forget! Ry was full of funny stuff yesterday and I’m already struggling to remember. So here goes:

One of my favorite snacks is a spoonful of peanut butter with a sprinkling of dark chocolate chips. Ry has a spoonful with me occasionally, but most of the time I just give him one chocolate chip on top. Yesterday I was feeling generous and gave him three. He looked at the spoon and exclaimed “That’s like a thousand chocolate chips!”

Sitting on the kitchen floor with an apple slice; “I have an idea! I will have a picnic by myself!”

“I’m a kid so I can go ’round and ’round in circles!”

“Momma, can I go to Grammy’s today?” (Nope, says I). “Ok. I will drive myself to Grammy’s house in momma and daddy’s car, and you can chase me in Nonnie and Papa’s car”.

……………………………………………………………………………………….

Grandma M took both boys today, so mom and I dropped dad off at work and took off to Bangor in order to stave off the stir-crazies. Our day involved a Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee, a Cinammon Dolce Latte at Starbucks, and a plain ol’ Seattle’s Best at Borders. Hehe. I’m fully dehydrated so I’m trying to catch up with my water consumption this evening. (Keep in mind each stop was only one coffee shared between the two of us-we aren’t that addicted). We window shopped quite a bit and enjoyed a fun girlie day together. I’m so glad we decided to get out, because another storm is upon us meaning we’ll probably be socked in for a few days again. Highly likely that the guys will have another snow day tomorrow, leading me to believe that they might go to school clear through summer break…

Well, time to hit the hay. I have a good book to delve into, and ya know there isn’t much better than ending the day in a warm bed with a good read!
