I have to admit; I’m sad to see it go. Christmas practically snuck up on me…I hardly decorated, presents were kept to a bare minimum. Now I’m ready for a do-over! Or maybe I’ll just start planning for next year. 🙂
We did have a lovely time; the Candle Light service at church was beautiful. Ryan asked at 5 minute intervals…”Is it time to light the candles yet?”
After church we pulled out the screen and projector at mom and dad’s and watched slides from many, many Christmasses ago. The boys were rarin’ to go until about 11 pm; we pulled out the mattresses and slept in the living room by the fireplace. At one point I heard Ryan talking in his sleep, saying something about Santa. Around 6:30 the kids were thrilled to find presents under the tree.
I, for one, ended up spending the majority of the day on the recliner, under the fabulous new blanket that mom made. I love blankets!
Erick’s mom and brother came over for the Big Meal, and then Friday we had presents over at our place with them. One of my favorite gifts to the boys were the superman pj’s…my brother and I had matching superman pj’s when we were younger. Oh, and of course they have had miles of fun with the boxes.
Between money saved and money gifted, Erick and I were able to purchase a nail gun set with compressor and a miter saw. Yipee! Time to knock out some projects around the homestead!
Well, Erick and I are dropping the boys of at Papa and Nonnies for the day, while we go enjoy each other on a day-long date. Time to get crackin’ so I can enjoy some hubby time! I hope that you all had a blessed Christmas..stay safe this New Year’s Eve!
